Crouse Chemical Dependency Treatment Services - Commonwealth Place Residential Programs
Chemical Dependency Treatment Services | Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York, USA

When there is help, there is hope.

Chemical dependency is not a weakness or a character flaw. It's a disease - one not so different from diabetes or a heart condition. An estimated 22 million Americans suffer from chemical dependency or substance abuse.

If you're one of them, you're not alone. Your disease can be treated through the comprehensive inpatient and outpatient programs offered by Crouse Hospital's Chemical Dependency Treatment Services. The area's leading provider of substance abuse treatment since 1962, Crouse is the only Central New York provider to offer an opioid treatment program (methadone maintenance).

We're here to help you. We're here to give you hope.

Because every patient’s needs are unique, each recovery plan is, too. But all benefit from a well-respected, integrated healthcare delivery system that offers all the resources of Crouse Hospital.

From hospital-based detoxification to a variety of outpatient programs, Crouse Hospital’s Chemical Dependency Treatment Services gives you options to meet you and your family’s needs during your treatment and recovery. We also offer several programs to meet the needs of populations with special treatment needs.

Programs

Length of treatment varies by patient, but our aim is to recommend the least restrictive, most effective program options available to restore your overall health and give you the greatest chance of continued success.

While your recovery will certainly take time and effort, you can be assured that Crouse Hospital has the services to help you at every level and keep you on the road to a chemical-free future.

Admissions

A centralized intake team, staffed by credentialed chemical dependency counselors, works with individuals and referral sources to carefully evaluate the level of care required and to arrange for admission to the program most appropriate for the patient’s needs.

Patients requesting outpatient care are scheduled for an intake appointment with a counselor at one of our outpatient locations, where an in-depth assessment interview is conducted. After a decision has been made as to the level of care required, all referral sources are notified via letter about the determination for the patient. The letter describes:
* Recommended program
* Start date
* Program hours of operation
* Other pertinent information

If a patient’s insurance requires pre-certification, our team will complete this step prior to treatment.
* Opioid Treatment (Methadone Maintenance)
* Inpatient Programs
* Outpatient Programs
